Krykhivtsi is part of the Ivano-Frankivsk urban agglomeration, an area with a predominantly low-rise, homestead character. The boundary between city and village is gradually disappearing, as new, larger developments appear among the homesteads and new infrastructure takes shape.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“Dolishnyi” is a new residential complex made up of five-story residential buildings and terraced cottages. The complex’s landscape and urban design brings together the character of the local homestead setting and the new urban environment, softening the contrast between them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The street is the complex’s main public space. Its logical, ordered design reflects an urban character. The courtyard, by contrast, is a semi-private, cozy environment, designed with the informal, natural character typical of the surrounding area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The terraced cottages are linked by a shared street, which serves as the main space for interaction between neighbors. Car and pedestrian movement share the full width of the street, removing the subconscious barrier between them and improving safety. A tree visually separates each cottage’s front yard from the street, adding a greater sense of privacy and coziness to both the courtyard and the street itself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
During periods of heavy rain, the rivers surrounding the residential complex can overflow their banks, putting the area at risk of flooding. To address this, a protective embankment is built along the entire riverbank.
