The site for the development of the project is an existing playground in a long-established residential environment on Lyubinska Street in the city of Lviv. More than one generation has grown up in this place. These conditions have formed an approach to the project, based on maximum research, preserving people's emotions about this place as much as possible.

Given the prevailing social environment and the ancient history of the place, the most appropriate approach is two-way communication between residents and architects. As part of the research, a thematic exposition and its presentation were carried out. This made it possible to acquaint people with the possibilities and approaches of the future project. For some time, communication with residents was carried out and their memories of the place, time and leisure spent there were recorded.

The collected thoughts and mentions formed the basis of the internal informal task of the project. This made it possible to preserve the nature of the space, develop it and supplement it with new qualities.

The project site itself and all adjacent internal residential courtyards are an extremely green space. First of all, we wanted to preserve this quality. In addition, quite typical at that time in the design of game spaces, was the approach using a large number of artificial materials and coatings in the decoration. We decided to offer a slightly different approach and a new quality of children's space for the city. To replace the artificial one – to use the most natural:

ornamental plants with tactile, sound and physical properties that can be used for various scenarios of children's play planted in the form of a labyrinth;

– wooden game elements;

– water, namely the organization of its movement, observation of this process and any children's games related to this. The water in this space was in the memory of almost all the inhabitants. Water is always the most interesting element for children to play, who often have limited access to it in an urban environment.

One of the solutions of the project is the construction of a new pavilion. The new pavilion provides a number of new functions, the main of which is the meeting and communication of residents.

A large roof area involves the accumulation of precipitation during rain and their redirection to the formed recesses of the coating. This creates streams and water movement in the playground. In addition, most surface water during precipitation from the solid surfaces of the site will also fill this stream. The end of the route for rain creeks is a depression in the site, which during intense rainfall will fill and also filter the water in a natural way.

The second scenario for children's leisure on the site is a labyrinth of ornamental plants complemented by wooden bridges. The shape of the labyrinth, in itself, is an object for the game. Its filling consists of specially selected ornamental plants with a variety of tactile, visual and physical properties for children to play.

An important decision is also to preserve the existing hill. This is the memory of many generations who grew up on this site, as well as a unique attraction for new generations.
